I took Jonah and Morgan swimming this afternoon, and thought it would be a great opportunity to put Jonah's new life jacket on him... wrong! He was screaming just as I was walking towards him to put it on. I delt with the screaming holding his hands off to the side as he fought me. I won in the beginning and got the thing on him.(at this point we are both in the water) I let go of him to show him he would float and he continued to kick and scream. As I brought him in closer to be he scratched my nose and left me with a bloody nose. It was oh so painful, I just took the vest off and let him just play on the stairs of the pool.
I came up with a wonderful idea for Isaac and I to have alone "date night" time. Tonight was the first night we put that plan to action. We signed him up to go to the same gym as I go to, then we could work out together while the kids play in the gym daycare. It was alot of fun until I was getting a little too competitive with Isaac and I hit my knee on the corner of the stationary bike and started gushing blood out of the new blue bruise growing on my knee. OUCH!!! It was so painful!
Yes, I'm complaining of my injuries!
In other super busy news, School started back for me last week and I'm feel pretty confident that I will do well in the class as long as I have good attendance, which (big surprise) is something I have trouble following through on. Thus why I usually do Internet courses. I have class 2 times a week. it is seeming to be working out great with our schedules it's just me and my own issues of being tired and lazy at the end of the day. Last place I want to be is sitting in a desk listening to a professor for 2 hours.
Yes, more complaining...
I think I'm done. Whew, starting to feel better! Thanks for reading and taking this all in!
HEY, why have all you folks stopped writing comments??? I love comments! I read them frequently to gather inspiration, strength, and wisdom! Keep them coming!

Therapy Box
I am inspired!
I spent a pretty penny and have made Mr. Jonah a "therapy box." I have found lot's of great finds for his sensory needs. My idea is to use it while Morgan is in school or sleeping or out with dad. I must stay strong and obey the golden rule of oly using these items as therapy and not for play time!!! (This by the way is one of the hardest tasks a momma could do, It's like buying Xmas presents in Sept and "pretending" like you are really going to be able to keep them from your child) I just get excited and I love when Jonah finds something he really likes.
So what's in this "therapy box" you ask?
Play-doe
squishy frog
ear phones
timer
bath loofa thingy
CPT back thumper
slime
Kleenex (we have him throw Kleenex as hard as he can!)
deflated balloons ( I blow them up and he holds as the air deflates)
plastic pins imprinting toy
If you have any ideas to help fill the box please let me know! I'm super excited to introduce this to him. As of now all he has is his bucket of beans, so this will be a great start to learning more about how to help Jonah.

Back in the saddle and going full throttle
I have had some time to go through the stages of grieving, although I stoped and paused and then backed up and repeated. I am still not sure where I stand on this news but Ive decided it really doesn't matter. I love Jonah and for a brief moment a doctor took that away from me.
For a few days I didn't even want to look at him, it hurt so bad. All that I loved about Jonah was now being thrown into the "Autism Spectrum" I felt robbed I felt so many emotions that It physically made me sick to hear the word let alone say it out loud.
I am ready for whatever tests Jonah is going to have to go through. It will be just another way for me to learn how to better parent Jonah. A friend of mine came down yesterday and we had the chance to talk a lot about this topic. One of my biggest issues as of now is the big thick black line that is dividing this situation. I have friends of "high functioning" kiddos with Autism as well as doctors who all see this going on with Jonah, then I have friends and family who have "normal" kids who believe this diagnosis is incorrect. It's a hard spot for me to be in when a huge part of me wants to believe that Jonah does not have Autism, but then my eyes are seeing something different.
Jonah went into speech and it was the same thing... His therapist didn't think he showed typical signs either, but she pulled out a test and much to her surprise he was on the spectrum. However I did quest a second opinion with a Dr named Brad Peck. It will be in early September.
As of now I am once again enjoying my sweet Jonah and loving all his little quirks along the way! Jonah is a very special child, if you have met him or ever get the chance to you will feel the energy and love he has for everyone. I love him more and more each day! I'm so lucky to have this Lil guy, and never again will I let a test take that feeling away from me.
Thank you for all the kind words, calls, and visits. Thank you everyone for helping me realize what I was over looking. I really do have some great friends!

Feeling defeated.
Im taking some time off from blogging.
I know it sounds silly as my problems
are nothing compared to what some of you are facing.
Im Just having a difficult time dealing with a diagnosis given to Jonah.
Today he was diagnosed with Autism.
I wasn't ready for this.
I need time to have my pitty party.
I need time to wrap my head around this.
I need time to fully understand what this means,
as of right now I am an emotional mess.

August
First off I would like to announce this is Jonah's 6th day with no oxygen during the day!!! If he makes it all through tomorrow he would have broken his own record!
This morning I went to the farm with my cuz in law, her son and my friend and her son. We had lot's of fun. I love seeing all of our kids loving and playing together. We had deep conversation and some intellectual talk... And by intellectual I mean we did not say the words potty, because mommy said, or yucky. It was really nice.

Mr. Jonah (What a Ham!)
I was able to go up and visit with our friend Jaxson who is currently up in the PICU (clearing of the throat) I mean the CICU. He looked good today. I wish hhe was home as I know far to well how much tougher it makes life to have kids at home and one in the hospital. I saw him start to smile and he just seemed to be more contenet today then he was yesterday. I loved visiting with Lacey (his mom) as we usualy have to talk through emails or texting as we both live fun medical lives. It's a blessing to have medical mommies to go to and lean on when we need each other. I am forever grateful for this in my own life.

What a fun day
Today has been great!
I got some weeds pulled in the garden, I got to visit with my friend Teresa, the kids got lot's of outside time and I think I fixed my farmer's tan...unfortunately I have a wicked sun burn.
We have had a wonderful week with NO appointments. I love these rare weeks. Makes Jonah more relaxed and less grouchy as he does not do well with constant instruction.
I have become more concerned with j do to the fact he seems to be loosing weight. I thought he was well on his way to start wearing 24 mo clothing, but now he seems to be taking a few steps back. his 18mo clothing is starting to hang off of him. We have not been to the not so fun FUN Clinic in about 4 or 5 months so I will get on the ball and make him an appointment with his team up there. He has been very successful with the plans that his nutritionist has made for him in the past. He will also be going back to feeding therapy next Thursday so hopefully I can get some tips from his therapist as well.

thickened liquids
I hate (yes I know hate is a strong word) thickening all liquids for Mr. Jonah. It has become such a pain! It has made keeping him hydrated so much more difficult! Jonah doesn't like juice, he will only drink Milk, almond milk or water. Occasionally he will sneak a sip of my Pepsi...not condoned by the way! He does not mind the thickened milk but won't drink the thickened water, and I don't blame him. It's been so hot that he has been rejecting any thickened liquid I give him and I get it, I mean who wants that thick of anything when temps are as high as 98 degrees? I guess I need to go back to giving him daily boluses of his formula and lot's of water. It's getting more and more difficult to use his feeding tube as he is well awear that it's there attached to his belly. He does all that he can to make sure it's going to be a difficult task for me. Ahh, my boy! He is my wild child...who woulda thought?

home from our mini va-ca

Our family vacation to S. Lake Tahoe was absolutely wonderful. It was the perfect amount of time to be gone from our normal chaotic lives here in Salt Lake. We got to smell fresh air for 3 beautiful days. Though Jonah did have a ruff spout. I'm glad we brought him home when we did because the last day was taking it's toll on him. Every night we were there, Jonah co-slept with me and my husband in a huge California King. I had him close to me the entire night so he wouldn't roll off. The first night I could feel his heart pounding fast. I wasn't sure how fast it should be beating but I knew it was going fast. Eventually it slowed to a normal rate and I was at ease but then it happened the next two nights. Because we flew I didn't bring his Oxcimiter. (I won't make that mistake again!) Since we have been home here in Utah I have spot checked J through the night and his heart rate is reading normal. How weird. His Sat's are hanging around 89 with no O's. We have him hooked back up to his plastic "leash" and letting the O's flow.
